Why plant a company forest?
Trees remain the most effective means of removing CO2 from the atmosphere. Other CO2-removal technologies are still too expensive or inefficient. With a company forest, you do your part towards neutralizing the climate-damaging effect of CO2 over time. Not only that, a company forest has other advantages: mixed forests strengthen native ecosystems, increase biodiversity and improve air quality.
Why plant a company forest in Germany?
You ensure that your company forest lasts a long time
When you plant in Germany, your mixed forest is protected by the German Federal Forest Act. What is once forest must remain forest. If trees are to remove CO2 from the air, they must grow over the long term. If a tree burns down after a few years or is cut down, the stored CO2 is released back into the air. In Germany, for example, forest fires are quickly extinguished and illegal logging is prevented.
You can see and touch your company forest
When you plant in Germany, you can see your forest live. You always know where your trees are growing. We have already forested areas on a former open-cast mine near Leipzig, and in North Friesland. You can even plant together with us. We offer community reforestation events every year. This way, your commitment to climate protection becomes a mission for the whole company.

Currently in Germany, only one in five trees is really healthy. This means trees are able to absorb less and less CO2. But we need healthy forests. Forests provide a habitat for many creatures, act as water reservoirs, filter the air and cool the environment. You create something additional
Climate protection only makes sense if the project you are supporting would not happen without your help. In climate protection, this concept is called additionality. If, for example, a waterworks is already self-financing and you support it as a climate protection project, that would not constitute additionality. The project is already there, so it can’t take any more CO2 out of the air than it already is taking out of the air.
